I've recievecd quite a few compliments on the format of my vids (which is WMV). Just click on the ones in my sig and you'll see.

I *never* said wmv formatted videos couldn't be good quality. I said to automatically assume a video made in windows movie maker is going to be a wmv file is stupid. It was a comment on the wmm-wmv link - not on quality issues. A complaint against those people who think wmm users can't do the same conversions most Premiere users do. You know, the ones who take for granted that if you use wmm you automatically use wmv, quality not withstanding.

The WMV9 codec for .avi is actually quite good. I used to use it for rips and clips before I had my new harddrive. You could get something almost as good looking as XviD at like a tenth the size.

I had 5 second clips at around 100-500 kb. But I've only used that for my Animix track... I use huffyuv for clips now.
