Kenshin? Vash? [are they the same?]

Hi, just a quick question: Is Kenishn and Vash the same person? I know theres Kenshin and Trigun but I don't know if the main charecters are the same or somthing. Bit of a stupid question, I know...

The other one is called Vash.

I just herd of Kenshin and Vash and I saw those images and I wasn't sure which of the two it was. I also didn't know if they were the same person, there are those occasions where people are the same but with a diffrent name in two diffrent stories...

They both have pasts they wanna keep hidden,
They both have likewise personalities,
They both hate killing,
They both have women misunderstanding them.

They do kinda seemlike the same anime at times...

Like Treasure Island and Treasure Planet (yes i know TP is based off of TI) they have alot of simularities in diffrent times.

*Shrugs* then again I guess thats with all anime.
