I don't think you realize what yaoi material is.

It is shounen-ai which features little to no plot. The material exists only to have boy/boy , boy/man, or man/man in a sexual encounter.

Shounen-ai may contain sex or it may not. Yaoi just happens to be one subset of it that MUST contain sexual material (often times which is hardcore) and said sexual encounter is the main purpose of the work...hence little or no plot whatsoever. Based on what you typed earlier you probably haven't seen a real Yaoi manga yet. What you are probably talking about is shounen-ai itself which is very common in many shoujo manga. Something to keep in mind for the future is that there is erotic material such as Yaoi or more soft fare that belongs to the classification of shounen-ai.

Shounen-ai litterally means "boy love'.

So the next time you denounce ero material from Japan (which is what North Americans like to call Hentai for dumb reasons) you might want to realize that Yaoi IS erotic material (its target audience is female).

I knew all of that... That's what I basically said, except I didn't mention that shounen-ai was similiar but not the same. Shonen-ai is fluffy boy love, and yaoi is basically, well, more sex-related, lol. But I was explaining to them that the word yaoi does not mean gay but it is anime with boy-boy sex thank you very much.

ok thats my public service announcement. All yaoi is is gay hentai. As far as hentai hentai means perverse so calling perverted material perverse is not incorrect its just that Yaoi is just that perverted. So saying you like Yaoi but not hentai is a lie. Anyway i quite fancy Lolli myself.

This is bullshit. It is not the retailer's job to monitor people's children. It is the job of the parental units to know what their child is watching and, if they don't like it, to forbid them from watching it. If, in fact, this is real, then it is just another sign of how lazy parents are these days. They don't want to watch their own kids, no, instead they'll shrug off all of the responsibility onto someone else. Jackasses.

yeah, same excuse as with pc and video games. thing is, most people's perants cant do much. and most perants are narrowminded and think that video games and anime are all for kids anyway. my mum bought me killer instinct ( an MA15+ rated snes game) when i was 8. meh, she didnt care.

my mom dont like the anime when im 17 yet she bought me all the resedent evils as they came out and to this day still randomly gets me extreamly violent games and a few with a little nudity in them
