I've never seen another anime that manages to be so visually inconsistent. I mean that in a good way (it's good for me, anyways). I can't find a segment of over 30 seconds where it stays with the same style and medium...
I know it's cheap, that episode, but the sheer off-beatness and insanity of the content, added to the art... and then burning it all afterwards... BACKWARDS!!!!![]()
That was the best thing I've seen in a long freaking time.
As of this week, this is my favorite anime evar!

Nope.
It actually makes me kind of depressed at times ~_~ Particularly Arima, lately...
It's just a genuinely good show that goes out to appeal through genuinely good story and humor, while using surprising combinations of art and taking sub-plots to new, better places. There's really not much else to it...
And I'm not apathetic, just... yeah, apathetic

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Flint said that too
Man, I hope he'll be back soon enough. That guy's been having a hard time lately...

Ahm - anyways - topic people, topic!
I wish I could see more of it, and soon. I hear some people don't like the ending, but judging by past experiences, and the show's current record - even a bad ending, which I doubt will be the case, won't spoil it for me

I've seen the series and read as much of the manga as is out (8 volumes), and the only difference I've noticed is that the manga continues past where the anime ends and doesn't have a chapter devoted to Kano.Moonlight Soldier wrote:Anyways, I've only read some of the manga, and from what I've heard from Oto, it differs quite a bit...

I wouldn't say I didn't like the ending, but I wish there was more. You know? But that's the way most anime leaves me fealing you know? Kinda Like the road runner cartoons, they are good because there is that feeling of optimism for next time, both for the road runner and the coyote...AHHAHA.

Did anybody else have a subtitle that said Asaba was dressed like a Dadaist? I thought that was really weird. We are talking about DADA in my art history class right now. It kind of makes sense, because dadaists were like hippies in many ways...they did drugs, they were against war, and they did things for seemingly no reason. I assume that the littleral translation of the japanese word is dada though, and that's why, I just thought it was funny! In many ways I find the series somewhat dadaistic, because the dada's were also iconoclasts, so they liked to mess with the typical views on art (See "Fountain" or "LHOOQ" By Duchamp and you'll understand) similarly the series seems to really move against the typical tide of animation, with things like episode 19, and episode 26, and a great deal of the episode previews. in general there are a lot of things in it that are just so atypical and that is one reason it is so appealing, because it is very artistic.

This is now one of my favorite animes. I just love how the story is so real. After watching countless animes about flying robots and people who can blow up planets it's nice to see an anime like this. It has a great story, but i think i'm like most people with the ending. I mean i wish they even had one, it's like you could of called any episode 26 and it wouldn't of mattered. I've now started to by the manga to hopefully get a real ending and because i really enjoy this story a lot.
And back to the original question, i would turn on the on screen text. I always did when i was watching the show and i loved the feature, i would recommend doing it, but you have to read pretty quick sometimes b/c there's a lot of it.
