Sorting the Search results?

Post by melezov » Fri Aug 30, 2002 8:41 pm

I don't think there is a way to sort the Search Results by any standards other than premiered / ascending..

For example.. I wish to see the lowest rated DBZ AMV in existence ^^

How in the world could I get it? By manual check of all the zillion DBZMVs?
If there is a way to search the non-top 10% for say.. lip sync, please do tell me, cos I would really be thankfull..

If there isn't a way, there should be one.. This is of course the root of my post and therefore I wrote it here in the Site Suggestions, not Helpme topics..

Thanx!

At last count, there were only 2951 Dragonball/DBZ/DBGT/DB movie vids. That's just shy of a zillion.

But no, I don't think there is a way to find that out. Most really bad AMVs aren't even rated, therefore there really is no way to sort out which is the worst.

I see what you mean, but I don't think it's really that necessary.

The whole "worst" part was only a joke of course - let's put it this way..

In the top 10% there is only room for a limited ammount of AMVs, right?
I just did a little search for "Hellsing" and as I though, neither Hellsing AMV was good enough to be put into the top 10%..

So, I clicked the "Search" button and entered Hellsing, there were 60 results...

I'm am honestly a mad Hellsing Otaku.. I LOVE THE THING..
So - Is there a way to somehow sort the best Hellsing AMVs out there?

Or any other AMVs from other series who didn't make it to the top 10%?

Same goes with music..

Let's pick a band.. Metallica... Let's say I want to see the best rated AMV by Mettalica.. there is NO way I could find out which the best rated AMV is except by manual clicking on each and every AMV.. is that true or not?

SO how come this isn't that important?

Yeah that's what I meant by, "I see what you mean..." And the main problem here, as I stated before, is that many vids aren't rated. And the ones that are, it's hard to choose which ones are thought out or just "YAH THIS VID ROXXX, 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10!!! WOOO, PARTY AT MY HOUSE!!"

And I still don't think it's necessary (of course) but it could be useful. The problem is deciphering a way to filter out the good from the bad. Other than someone going through, downloading all the videos, and deciding which were well-done or not... it's next to impossible.

Because until now, I'm pretty sure this hasn't really come up. Sure it'd be nice to see which is the nicest at a glance, but are we really in such a lazy age where we want everything in a snap. Ponder that one.
