Looking for music of Indian influence

I'm finding it quite a task to find good music of Indian influence, preferably with use of violins. Anyone have any suggestions you wanna throw at me?

Well, first of all, I assume you mean Middle Eastern style music like from India and not Native American Indian.

Off the top of my head, I can only think of:

Kamelot - Desert Reign/Nights of Arabia
Vanden Plas - Field's of Hope
Masterplan - Bleeding Eyes

These songs primarily have that Satair-like instrumental riff going. I'm sure there are others. Maybe Nightwish or Dream Theater had tried that style...OH!! Def Leppard experimented with that theme on their SLANG album.

The only songs I've ever heard use violins are a couple of ballads and acoustic tracks like:

Er...Do not say that an Indian is from the middle east. VERY big mistake.

I'm not sure about any English music influenced by Indian, but I know TONs of Indian music influenced by America/England.

Delerium uses mid-east samples quite a bit. Conjure One (a Delerium side-project) uses even more.

Yeah I've pretty much heard all of Delerium, and Conjure One was great as well.

Apparently, some of that crossed over onto the new Front Line Assembly album, "Civilization". I haven't heard it yet, so I can't confirm.

I know of a song called Jogi by a group called Panjabi MC. It's quite fun.

Cheb Mami is featured on Sting's Desert Rose, and has quite possibly one of the sexiest voices ever. He's done some other work as well. Very nice stuff.
