Yea, for the time. Then he went and perfected his technique for Believe, which is still better than 98% of lip sync today. Though his engel lip sync, is maybe only better than 50% of lip sync today :|

I didn't like it. It's not that the editing was of it's just that it felt wierd for it to be at higher quality. It just didn't feel right and I don't think it really needed to be any better, that is the higher quality lost some of the feeling of the piece and didn't really improve the video in any way. Maybe I'm crazy but I, for one, am sticking to the original that we all know and love.

Come on, the guy calls music videos "clips," I doubt he even knows about proxy. :?

Personally, I think this was interesting, as I've contemplated remaking several videos if I had the anime (with consent of the original creator). I'm sure this guy doesn't know any better. He just saw something that blew him away and wanted to remake it with better quality... not realizing that he was butchering it. :?

Like the shot-for-shot remake of Psycho starring Vince Vaughan and Anne Heche?

His profile is tagged for Russia (.ru). "Clip" is what they call a music video in Europe ('specially in France).

ok, i can honestly say i didn't like this creator's rendition of KC's video. as a fan of the original, i agree that kevin's lipsynch was far from perfect, but the timing was pretty much right on, something i noticed to be a bit off in this 'remastered' version(lipsynch wasn't so hot either, quite a few mistakes/differences i noticed). it's not to say that this person didn't try, since he obviously put a lot of effort into it(as evidenced by the written timing notes he links in the video info), and in the end it was definitely a well done video, just not nearly as good as the original IMO. There were a few other things i could point out, but i'll save that for the review.

Well then he still has an excuse... he's Russian.

From my perspective.. I have no issues if someone does this for themselves.. but when you post it to the .org, it crosses a line IMO.

I think the only person who has a real right to post a remastered version of Engel to the .org is Kevin Caldwell himself.

As far as I'm concenred if you're not Kevin Caldwell, then you shouldn't post "your remastered version" of someone else's work here on the .org.

Once you post it somewhere for public attention it just tells me that the reason for posting it to the .org is not genuine.

Either way you look at it this video isn't causing anybody harm. He gives Caldwell credit in more than one place. If you don't like it, either don't watch it or leave a review.

It isn't as though they stole the video like some poeple have been doing with other videos as of late.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not out to lynch people.. but I this is more a respect and a courtesy thing with me. Besides.. I looked at the "remastered" version.. and the lip-synch is off.. as well as a bunch of the timing. I don't think it does the original AMV justice, regardless of being "higher quality".

That's just my opinion.
