They're supposed to be different colors to accent the fact that one is fake, it is supposed to be one of those things that gets explained in the 2nd to last episode and you go, "Shit! So that is why his eyes were always different colors. He isn't just a genetic freak like Yuna!"
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the lighter one is the fake one, it is whatever one is indicated in RFB when he says something to the effect of "and one can only see the past."

My bad, it must just look green on my horrible TV. He does have a reddish fake eye, though.

And I rewatched the episode, it IS his right eye.

More importantly, does that fake eye do anything cool besides freak out that fat flying guy? It was so lame when he said "one eye sees the present...the other sees the past." I was hoping that he'd say it saw the future or something, the way he paused before saying it. How boring.

actually it does do sumtin special... and looking into the future would be dumb... sumtin that Andy would have said... but anyways, it's sorta ability is to see into the past, that is, since he can't see what's in front on him with it, it concentrates on his past memories, so saying it sees the past, is his way of saying that he can't forget the past, dealing with ur past is a big issue in bebop btw, not saying it's the biggest, but it is important

didnt spike loose his eye at the very start when it showed you him fighting the triad...(or some sort of gang like that) and viscous when spike was trying to get out of that "life".... just before he means the luv of his life Julia.... mmm ^ btw that really isn’t a spoiler becoz its the very first episode and the whole dropping roses and fighting is in the opening theme?

but ne way i think thats what he means by 1 eye sees the past... becoz its something he'll neva forgot....

but then again i cud be wrong... but then how offend am i wrong ^_^....Dont answer that...
