For those who aren't familiar with acronyms, SMJ is Saber Marionette J. While I'm very likely going to pass on most of J to X (having heard about how tragic that series is), the original series and J Again are indeed enjoyable IMO.

J to X is suppossed to be tragic? I heard "preachy", but never tragic. Are you sure you aren't thinking of SMR?

Damn you! I waaaaant that series! Too bad it costs money ~_~

artfreak, the series (I think) is really good, but it's a kind of mix 'tween shonen anime (anime for guys) and shoujo anime (anime for girls). If you're interested exclusively in one or the other you may not like it. I loved the series and what little I saw of "J to X" and "J Again". *sigh* One of these days, i'll actually have money and be able to buy the DVDs!

Ryan, if you decide to go for it, I highly suggest Best Prices. They have VERY good prices. For example, Saber Marionette J (sorry about not translating the acronym before...) costs $45 before tax at my local store. Per disc set, I might add. At that site, it's only $32 before shipping. MUCH cheaper, especially when getting the whole series. ($135 compared to $96).
