I have a feeling you're talking about the Love United vid. that one was shown at the AnimeFURY contest last november, entered for exhibition only I believe, so I assumed it might've been exhibition only at megacon as well.Marlex wrote:No, that wasn't the one I was talking about, but it was a good video too. I've seen the first two episodes of Super GALS and I've wanted to see more. There were a lot of non-traditional videos at Megacon... Super GALS, Hikaru no Go, Ippo, and more.pumpkinchick28 wrote:Hmm, you might be talking about my video. Probably just wishful thinking on my part though.Marlex wrote:Very original and entertaining video. Good lipsyncing. Can't remember which song it was to right now, but it was one of my favorites of the contest.Mine had a LOT of lip synching, though I don't know if I'd call it good lip synching.
It was Super Gals! footage to "Super Model" by Jill Sobule. It's here if you want to see if it's the same one. I'm not plugging for my video or anything, I'm just curious if anybody liked it at all, cause it didn't get much of a crowd reaction...well, unless you count, "confused silence" as a crowd reaction.

I don't believe that one was at this contest. there was a video that used the same song, but it was more recent, done by the guys at more than toast, and that one was shown in the contest.IcyCloud wrote:I think it's this video.Marlex wrote:Various video to unkown friendship song...

Oh, you're right, my mistake. It was the More Than Toast vid.norskotaku wrote:I don't believe that one was at this contest. there was a video that used the same song, but it was more recent, done by the guys at more than toast, and that one was shown in the contest.
Link.
(I think the other one was one of the ones shown between anime; I'll have to download it and see if it's the one I remember.)

Every creator wants to see their video on the 'big' screen and see the crowd reaction. So this year EVERY entrant that followed the rules had at least one of their videos shown. If you submitted 2 videos, the best of the 2 were shown, unless both were superior, they both got shown.norskotaku wrote:couldn't tell you who the runner ups were, cause they never announced any. also don't know what was shown outside on the tv, as I was inside at that time. I'm curious how they chose what was played as well, since I never saw some videos that would've been amazing, and instead saw many that I was surprised to see "make the cut" in an amv contest like this.

I wish I would have known that was the way it was going to work, cause I would have just sent one video. As it went, my video that I spent maybe 10 hours on and in my opinion is mediocre got shown. And the one I spent 45+ hours on and all the people I've shown it to say is awesome didn't get shown.Snackpants wrote:Every creator wants to see their video on the 'big' screen and see the crowd reaction. I know it's your contest and you have the right to run it in whatever way you choose, but it would have been nice to know about that ahead of time. I don't really see any point in submitting two videos to a contest if they're only going to show one of them unless they are "amazing."
Too late to do anything about it now obviously.

We have such a limited time, I really wish I could have a VAT and show them all... maybe in '05.pumpkinchick28 wrote:I wish I would have known that was the way it was going to work, cause I would have just sent one video.
