Archon 28 AMV Contest

Post by Garylisk » Sun Mar 07, 2004 5:12 pm

Me and a couple other people here in St. Louis are trying to get together enough interest in having an AMV contest at Archon this year. We just have to figure out how to get it together and what we have to do.

We'll be posting flyers at game/anime shops in the St. Louis area, and be talking to the Archon officials on where and when it'll happen.

I know not many people on this board/site attend Archon since it's not a pure Anime con, but I still would love to see an AMV competition this year.

So anyway, once it's official and I have more information, I'll post it. If you wanna participate (The con is in October, so there's lots of time), just give me a shout over ICQ, AIM, or email.

I'm interested....as long as I don't have to mail anything.

It's the con that got me started. I'd be honored to participate in a contest/screening. 8)

Given it sounds like it would be the closest contest to my Alma Mater, I'd definitely be interested in participating assuming we didn't have to attend... the odds of my being able to make it are pretty low. :?

Garylisk, I'm super interested in it. If there's anything you need help with, contact me. I've never heard of Archon though; is there a link? I'll put you on my AIM list.

Here's the Archon Website:

http://www.stlf.org/archon/

Like I said, it's not certain that the contest will be happening, but we'll be trying our best to make it happen, plus trying to drum up enough interest.

Me and a few others are trying to get Archon's anime content raised even more this coming year, plus there's talk of a Mid-Missouri Anime Con that would be branching off mostly from Archon people.

Basically, we're trying to give St. Louis a bigger better anime scene. :)

I keep hearing from a couple friends who still live in St. Louis about 2 anime clubs, one on UMSL's campus and one in St. Charles. You guys should be able to pull together enough resources to get a small con together. g'luck, man. ^^

Brian Lan, the guy who runs the St. Charles Anime Club (Fant-Asia St. Louis) is one of the guys I'm working on this with. :)
