I wouldn't be surprised. Dio, afaik, is a pretty well-known figure in metal, so why not? The guy has been at it for decades...

I haven't heard anybody come as close to sounding like DIO as Jorn Lande does. But, I've never compared Russell Allen to DIO - he has the range. Eh, it must be you.

It is mostly him. Though, admittedly, Russel sounds more like Dio than a lot of singers do. And I don't think Dio sounds much like Jorn Lande, but it mostly depends on which Jorn Lande you're talking about.

He's done several different things with his voice.

My mom said Blind Guardian sounds like Queen (vocals). It's odd how that happens sometimes... Really good bands end up sounding like someone else.

I can't compare Dio to Symphony X for the sole purpose of the fact that I haven't heard Dio before...

There's a lot of people who say BG is a Queen ripoff. I don't hear it in Hansi's vocals, except maybe on A Night At The Opera. SymX sounds like dio? no, not really.

and I agree with Flint: SymX > Dio.

I've heard several people liken BG to Queen. Then I play them "Banish From Sanctuary" and they have to eat their words.

When was the last time Kreator made it into the thankslist of a BG disc? Could have something to do with it...
