i just got the first 3 dvd's of this show. i really like it so far. i dont really have a question, just want to say its a cool show. actauly im sorta confused. in the first ep Guts is fighting this big ass demon thing then the other eps seem to be more like his past, are they a flash back or did i miss something

Yeah, it's a flashback, one which will run for the rest of the series, right up to the final moments of episode 25. The series covers the "Golden Age" arc of the manga, which is the least bloody and one of the best. The manga also starts by establishing Gatts in the post-

Berserk is amazing. One of the greatest things I've ever seen.

As for the first episode, I'm certain that you aren't intended to understand it the first time around. It occurs after the rest of the series does and you won't be able to understand it until after you've seen the series.
