Diaho, from Crest of the Stars and attendant sequels. He alternately wreaks havoc and provides excuses for Jinto to visit Lafiel (as if he need one).

nah, Menchi is just a dog. A silly one, but still "just a dog".

My favourite "sidecreature" would be the voomar in BGC2040, the one that controls the spacehook. So damn cynic, so cool. Just like "Marvin the paranoid android" from "Hitchhiker´s Guide to the universe".
