Chat Room

Post by Seijin_Dinger » Fri Feb 27, 2004 12:15 pm

Ok how about switching the AIM Chat over to phpMyChat
this way we can tie it into the member list like the message board and have a moderator or 2 to keep the peace unlike the AIM Setup where anyone can log in annonomously and berate people without fear of getting in trouble

Yea i think that would be a good idea. you don';t have to download a new piece of software so this makes it easier for newbs to get help and advice but also keeps the chatroom under control so that are more welcome. A lot of people are really "harsh" to newbs in that chatroom. and we have also had non amv people come in due to some help and cuase a problem. not to mention some people like to spam the chat with multiple logins. and it's really hard to help someone when people are spamming or telling the newb he's a newb ever two seconds. the sad thing is, to some people, who ever doesn't come in all the time is concidered a newb and it's jsut not cool when you've been around for a long time and wana help some people out. to me, i like the AIM chat. i've been in there for a long time and people know me. some of the shit that goes on in there is fun. but to the new people i hate seeing them berated just cuase they want some help. IRC was brought up in the past but it's harder for the new people to get into it cuase of the software and other problems. the phpmychat idea sounds awesome. probably the best chat idea so far :P

I do admit that phpMyChat is a very cool idea - but the reason to have a chat with admins is presumably to have admins :)

Who will be admin?

But then we'd get inviso-chat mods. :?
