Perfect Blue Video

Post by mckeed » Tue Feb 24, 2004 3:20 pm

Hey, i just released this video entitled Cry Little Idol.
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=32975

Its a drak and dramatic video to Gerard McMann's "Cry little sister." You may recognize the song from the movie Lost Boys. There is a bit of violence and some brief nudity. No spoilers.[/url]

Sure, I'll download this one... (watches it)
Deeply creepy, liked the organ effect with the keys.

Yeah, the creepyness of the song totally made that video....plus perfect blue isn't the most uplifting thing ever. I liked the organ keys myself...but at least they are not "piano keys" ;)

I very much liked this video, no doubt it's one of the
best for Perfect Blue I've seen yet. I've always loathed
MEMANIA's character design but it bothered me
less in your AMV than in the movie, so you've
improved upon that.

The song fits well, although I'm not crazy about it.
The timing is great, and the effects used are put
to good use. The quality of the vid impresses
me, as the Perfect Blue transfer is a disaster.

I'll have to check your other AMVs, I don't recognize
any of the songs you use, maybe we just differ in
musical taste. Still, very nice video...

I try to use "different" music that most people don't use. A few songs are 80's songs, send me and angel, november rain, cry little sister,in your eyes was originally a 80's song that was covered a few years ago. Others are just some random stuff. The usher song is more rap, DJ sammy, and grove coverage is more techno.

I would reccomend uber depressing video to watch next. Its a another dark video.

As far as the quality. I did some hardcore cleaning using avisynth on that. The transfer IS horrible, but you can work wonders with avisynth. Couldn't get rid of all the film noise though. But its still way better than what is on the DVD.

Oh, that's Gabriel's "In Your Eyes"? I see now, yes, I
do recognize some of the songs, just not the artists.
I'm also looking into the 80s catalogue, and also
modern covers if available (sometimes they're better,
sometimes they're not). I keep looking out for something
to edit over early Gabriel or Gabriel-era Genesis but so
far I've found nothing (I don't watch much anime).

Anyway, I'll take a look at the video you suggested...
