Okay, I said I'd post a couple screen caps so here you go.
Unfortunately, I can't really convey just how fluid and dynamic the animation is.

I personally like this series, however short it may be, digimation id expensive after all. There is a place near the Mall of Georgia, they had the first and second DVDs for around $30. Not bad, considering what they run for online

What company is releasing them?

The dvds should not run for less than $50 as that is THE price for the discs. Plus the discs are region 2, any other region (esp. 0 or region free) is not official.

If they are official, the store is selling at a loss. (and counting on people having R2 players)

Once again, this store is located in Japan, so all its prices reflect prices for official goods.

Macross Zero is set during the Unification Wars, which is a time between when the starship crashed into what would eventually become Macross Island and before there was a Unified World Government.

This is, of course, taking into account the actual Macross Timeline and ignoring all that Robotech bull-crap.

Ah! So it's Robotech related! It looked just like Top Gun to me...actually, that could be an interesting anime....

Well... Robotech related so far as Robotech is a just a really bad translation (with some intolerable tampering) of Macross.

Macross Zero deals more with this Island People who happen to be in the middle of the confrontation...

I love it when people think that Robotech is the original and all things Macross came after.
Robotech only got me to start watching Macross

Macross is SO much better than Robotech. I really need to save up and buy the Animeigo TV boxset (if there's any left).

Macross is another one of my fav. mech series along with Gundam.

I hate how everyone keeps calling them Veri-techs...it annoys the hell out of me.
Doesn't VF-1S Strike Valkryie sound so much more like a military machine than just veritech?

Personally, I love the designs for Macross. The VF-1 and its variants, and the VF-19(YF-19) and VF-22(YF-21) are all my favorite designs, also I like the addition of the FAST packs.

They really need to make a Macross VF-X 3. I loved VF-X and VF-X2's ability to choose from different Macross fighters and be able to transform on the fly.
