Fan Response

Post by Lord Tarrant » Sun Feb 22, 2004 4:33 am

Why does Inuyasha recieve such a huge fan response when ANYTHING concerning it changes on AS? (This is from a philosophical point of view, not trying to be arguementative) I mean, there are plenty of other animes out there to watch and you can buy all the episodes (they aren't dubbed but I hear they are better that way) so what is it about this show that makes so many people act like, dare I say, Muslims on a Jihaad? (Nothing derogotory meant by that) Why does no other anime recieve such attention? If AS aired nothing but Inuyasha, I doubt you would hear much if anything at all from people wanting the other animes back on the air. What are your thoughts on the subject?

Because Rumiko Takahashi is a frickin' genious.

Actually, I don't know.
Big O got quite a bit of response, you know, when they played ep 20 instead of ep 26.

Maybe its because new eps (new to the U.S.) aren't coming fast enough, that America is laggin far behind. U.S.: ep 52, Japan: ep. 140

Also, it might be the age group. 13-17 year olds (and sometimes older) can be really annoying. Also, fanboys/fangirls.

I'd love it if AS would play Ranma for exposure. (I don't truly care if they do or not, I have it all on dvd)

Also, to balance Witch Hunter Robin, Hellsing would be nice. Though I doubt they could run that unedited like WHR.

I think the story's just accessible for many, many people. Parents can let little kids watch it without too much concern (the violence isn't even all that violent most of the time, and the sexuality is best described as "cute"), and yet it has enough adult humor to keep them entertained.

Plus it's an easily-followed story. *shrug*
