Which words do they use the most? (baka,nane', oro)?

heh.. my mistake. I didn't mean to practice shampoo or anything. It's the intonations and that I was thinking of. Voice wise I'm probably closest to Amon, or Marduk (WHR and FMP respectively.) My friend says I always sound slightly pissed when I speak Japanese.

I mostly started learning japanese so I could swear, but then started to attempt learning the language so I could put the swear words into sentences :¬ p

Yeah, you don't want to mimick the high pitched girly voices. I usually stick with calm - intermediate level (not too high or low) voiced characters - especially the ones who also do the music (much easier to learn a language if I can sing it first). But I only mimick the sound of the words - not the pitch of the people saying them.
There are only one or two voice actors who have the same pitch voice as me - namely Megumi Ogata (Kurama, YYH) - singing or speaking, our voices are pretty much on the same level. So that works. ^_^

LOL..though ya very true, *singing that is* I've learned from experience that Maaya Sakamoto's range surpasses mine ...A LOT...yay for octave lowering *cough* but in any case, what I find the most difficult with 'practicing' with anime, is the syntax....that's why I basically only know certain words and phrases ...since in watching subs the order can be reversed.

Besides songs, I find that watching Japanese without subs, really helps, because it makes you listen and focus on what they are saying instead of just reading subs, I've done that a couple times with LA Sailor Moon when I've been too impatient to wait for a fansub...kinda surprised myself at being semi able to follow along

x2. I found that with DBZ, which doesn't have the GREATEST vocabluary in anime I know, but I still shocked myself (I was only something like 15 at the time-although I haven't improved that much since )
