Name your favorite couple for V-Day

OK... while there are many couples I love in the world of anime (being a real sucker for romance as I am), my favortie romantic story is of that told between Makoto and Ifurita in the original El Hazard OAV. I don't know any romantic storyline of all the anime I have seen that was more touching or moving.

The whole sequence where Makoto gives his memories to Ifurita really gets me, even though I have seen the sequence dozens of times.

On this thread, I urge people to pick ONE anime couple that is their favorite romantic couple and talk about why they chose that couple.

My vote would be for Yuuichi and Ayu from Kanon. Especially in the end, when everything is revealed about the past. It's nearly impossible to elaborate much without spoilers, but seeing the lengths they both go to in order to reunite is really moving. That's why it's by far one of my favorite series.

I'm going to go with Jinto and Lafiel from Crest of the Stars (and sequels). All the pain they go through, all the close brushes with death, and the forced seperation really tugs at my heartstrings. That, and the banter between them gets to be a lot of fun, when they aren't stuffed into a small space designed for one person (you know, like a coffin or something).

OOOO that's a hard one. Hmm.....

I suppose romance wise I'd have to say Miaka and Tamahome....

....though Fuu and Ferio are a favourite, as well as [manga] Usagi and Mamoru.

Crazy couples that I love to see are probably Keitaro and Naru...followed closely by poor Excel and her unrequited love for Ilpalazzo...heh... 8)

Matsuo and Nagisa from Yume de Aetara. I dunno, the guy fucks up all the time but the chick keeps forgiving him. And i liked the end of the OVA a lot, so sappy

And Aoi and Kaoru from Ai Yori Aoshi (and Enishi). They seem so perfect together... to bad they can't tell anyone ;_;

Heh oops didn't explain....probably due to excessive swooning....

Miaka and Tamahome...well if you've read FY...(I haven't seen the anime yet

..but for Eikoden...) ...they're just that sort of perfect fantasy couple....they overcome everything that seems to get in their way (I won't delve into the spoilers of volume nine ;_;...that was especially weep-worthy...oy the tear-stained pages)...and well get it together...the anime even follows up...hence why Eikoden, the very last OVA ...holds a special place on my shelf...

oh and i break the rules again... Kei and Mizuho from Onegai Teacher cuase she's hawt and i wish i was kei >.> also cuase they get sappy at the end ;_;

Darn, she beat me to it!

Never read the manga, but the series goes like this:

"Miaka..."
"Tamahome..."

Multiply that by 50 and you have one full episode. BTW my fav. Valentine's couple would be Arima and Miyazawa from Kare Kano because they seem the most reality-based.
