Gravi vids!!!

Post by KennysGirl » Mon Feb 09, 2004 4:52 pm

:P What we need in here is some new Gravitation vids. I have found some pretty cool ones out there, but I love Gravitation sooooo much, and wish there were more animes like this one. Someone make a really cool Gravi video to something like....Evanescence....or Blink 182 - Going off to college....or Jimmy Eat World - A praise chorus....or some sort of Sarah Mclachlan song....something cool!!!! 8)
Yep...I'm Kenny's girl...uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh. =-P Peace Love and Nakeyness!!!

There are a bajillion out there now - just wait till the DVDs are released to Region 1. There will be a bajillion more then.

I have an idea or two, but nothing definite. I have this idea stuck in my head to do something by Erasure, because it reminds me of Shuichi so badly. Eh, well.

Why would you poison Gravi with Evanescence?
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.

 How in they hay is using Evanescence poisoning Gravitation? You don't think that there is one song that would go really well with the series, such as My Immortal, or perhaps even Everybody's Fool :?: ....c'mon...think about it.

Hi. We call ourselves 'Musical Elitists'. I'm sure you've heard of us before
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

That's kind of harsh, but I do agree that Evanescence should be avoided whenever possible. There are absolutely sickening numbers of Evanescence AMVs already made, it's overdone beyond belief, and IMO it's a shortcut for lazy AMVers. "Wow, this sounds dramatic OMG ANGST!"

I'm a little tired of it. Even though there are some vids that I quite like with Evanescence songs, every newbie automatically assumes that it's the best band to use in AMVs ever, and as a result we have a gigantic flood of often lame Evanescence AMVs to everything under the sun.

So.

Not to mention that I don't think it fits Gravi in any way, shape, or form. Giant wailing screaming choruses about black pits of infinite pain or whatever? In a show about a pop star? Um, no.

Even disregarding my preferences, I must solemnly proclaim that it's impossible on a purely physical level :P

As for hostility to Evanescence - well, putting aside taste etc., I gotta say that most of it is simply over-used. I've learned that lesson when I was present at CNAE's 2003 Anime Evanescence Video contest  (no, it was just a normal AMV contest with a highly disproportionate number of Evanescence videos in it)

Hmmm...

Well....I still believe that Evanescence would go well with Gravitation, and to the person who spoke of "newbies" and "pits" (where Evanescence's songs are concerned), I believe you need to seriously rethink both of those statements. First of all, if you are indeed calling me a newbie simply because I happened upon this particular site a little later than you, you are sadly mistaken. Second of all, you need to rethink Evanescence's lyrics and who Amy Lee (sp?) herself is. I doubt, and am almost certain of this, that that is all her songs entail. So...nice try on sounding like you know something well, but it was just that...a try...an attempt...nothing more. Sorry...I don't want to make enemies or anything, but I had to speak my piece. And yes...there are poorly done Evanescence AMVs, but there are also very well done ones. Same with Sarah Mclachlan, but she still makes an amazing voice behind the scenes from wonderful animes. But...that's just my opinion.

You should give the Rose Chronicles a shot.

I mean, if you like Amy Lee and Sarah Mclaughlin, you'll probably like Kirsty Thirsk.

She also sings on several Delerium songs, such as Wisdom and Flowers Become Screens.

Oh! And Scarling! Just search them out, they rock. Way more gothy than these others.
