Wow, you just made my day. Thanks! I do recall hearing a few sniffles in the main events roomCyanna wrote:I have a few.
dwchang's Glory of Love actually...moved me to tears the first time I saw it at Otakon 2003. I just thought it was such a beautiful song with fitting scenes (I've still never seen Escaflowne) and I was sitting there with my best friend/boyfriend. I just started crying.

Back on topic, there are at least four music videos that have moved me emotionally, but in all honesty, didn't *change my life* like the original topic says. I'll get to that later:
1) Kevin Caldwell's Believe - I've never seen the show Battle Athletes, but the video is so well made that it stil affects me...somewhat indescrible I guess *shrug*.
2) Vlad Pohnert's Memories Dance - Not much to say here, but Miyazaki has been a part of my life since I wasl ike 5 years old.
3) Hsien Lee's With Every Light - Like Pie said, the last message just hits ya. And although the video seems random in scene selection, I disagree. They fit so perfectly and are so uplifting, especially given the story behind the video (motivation).
4) Jason Abellada's Lullabye - I really must thank Rozard for showing me this at JACON. Sure it's "Grave of the Fireflies" which is inherently sad, but this video is just so powerful and is probably the only times I've been close to tearing up while watching an AMV. The one line that is subtitled is pure genius!
Now those are all great emotional videos, but the closest one to actually changing my life is most definitely:
-Hayao Miyazaki's On Your Mark - Yeah I do realize this isn't an amateur "AMV," but its beauty is undeniable. I'm saddened to see Phade hasn't put it on the local server as I (and others) have requested since it means people can't download it >_<. This music video still affects me everytime I see it and makes me smile. An entire story told in 6 minutes and a powerful and uplifting one at that. I wouldn't say this directly made me make AMVs, but it is certainly one of the most influential for me within this hobby. No offense to any of you, but I don't think anyone can ever "top" this amv in my heart.

I *love* this video (probably my favorite eva video, out of the many I like), but it doesn't do much for me emotionally. Again though, I *love* this video regardless.Pie Row Maniac wrote:How could I forget to mention this legend?

However, do you *love* the video, *love* the video, *love* the video, or is it just a boring, unadorned *love*?dwchang wrote:I *love* this video (probably my favorite eva video, out of the many I like), but it doesn't do much for me emotionally. I still have to see that one (if it's the one I think it is)... It's the only other AMV in the catalogue that uses Billy Joel's "Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel)" The song itself is enough reason for me to check it out.dwchang wrote: 4) Jason Abellada's Lullabye - I really must thank Rozard for showing me this at JACON.
