Otakon Deadline...NEW

Post by Superios » Wed Jan 28, 2004 6:20 pm

Hey folk, Geoff here

The date on the contest calendar is wrong....dead wrong. it is NOT april 19th...the deadline, revised by me, is May 8th (saturday).

I don't know who put 4/19 on the calendar, but it was not myself.

May 8th is a date I feel safe with, as my main goal this year is making sure that the contest goes off w/o a hitch...I'm going to talk to teh guy who makes the ballots this year and if he says what i like, the dealine could be the 15th, which is as far as I can make it...(unless you all want ME to pick what goes to the contest, and obliterate the pre-screenings...right, who wants THAT?)

I spent all of last week off the net so that I could work the schedule right.

I hope this gets many more original amv's as possible, but this is my learning year...I'm currently bitching at otakon people who want to make next years con even earlier to make it august again....I am SO glad I'm getting some help from Matt

w00t! I can go do the happy dance now. Then again, I was planning on being down way before the original deadline, but it's always good to have extra time just in case...

I think I speak for most of us when I say:

THANK YOU!

No really, I appreciate this and will do my very best to get a suitable and original entry in on time. IIRC last year's contest deadline was the 15th and since the con is a week or two earlier, it makes sense to bump it a week earlier and I can deal with that.

Again, thanks!

Sweet. I get a few more days do work on my video and not worry about it getting there on time. I don't think I'll make contest again but I like the concept and I think some people will enjoy it as well ^_^ Good luck to all entrants! Let's make this as good a year as last year's ^_~

Thats good to know, now I have time to deal with the frequent crashings and lost data. Hooray for all

Man, every year Otakon's AMV Contest is announced and every year somebody besides the contest organizer puts the dates up on the contest calendar wrong. Who keeps doing this? :x

*cry*
I feel so bad that I won't be able to make a video this year, cause of this damn parody stuff I am doing, and the fact that I'm kinda helping produce the contest.

Yeah, I'm bragging :P
It's all I have left in life!

P.S. I will be holding auditions for "New Trophy Girlfriend" Friday of the con in the Pratt street entrance.
Cat ears and tails are a plus, and the less clothing the bet..........huh?....I can't do that at the con?

Ok well aparently Geoff is telling me I can't do that. DAMN! :(

Huh? ............ OH! :o

He says I can't do that unless I do it for him also! So yeah, Friday morning, Pratt entrance, ready to please.

Thank you.
