Hey! Theres nothing better than a long brown hair girl with glasses! What is it with this "guys like blonds" sterotype

I suppose all girls like big muscle men with brown hair?

I only *skimmed* the responses, but am fairly sure I didn't see this answer.

Yes, there is an Escaflowne manga, but unlike most manga-anime relations, the Vision of Escaflowne anime came first. It was created/screenplayed(?) by Shoji Kawamori (created original Macross/Robotech) and directed by Kazuki Akane instead of drawn/created by a manga artist.

People have already gone over the general relationship, but this is one of the few that started out as anime and then they decided to make a manga. I think Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop are like that as well. It's not unheard, but happens less often.

I hear the main story elements are there, but there is odd stuff like Hitomi is the energist that powers Escaflowne in one version (Shoujo?) and in another she's the pilot of Escaflowne (Shonen?).

From what I've read so far, you need to flip those answers.

Meh, I was adding comparisons/contrasts :p. He/She didn't ask specifically if I do so recall.

I really hate the manga in comparison to the series (So why do I buy every volume as soon as it comes out?). The story is bad, the characters are 2D (either 2 demensional or 2 dumb, whatever), and what is with the spikey boobs on princess Milerna (Do not ask)?

It really isn't worth getting if you have seen the series before. But if you haven't seen it, or you really REALLY hated the series, then you will love this because they took every single thing that was good about escaflowne and threw it out.

And it did come out after the series did. The girl version (I think it's two volumes) should be coming out when this series (Aimed more towards guys) is over (Only one more to go).
