I do the same thing ...bum wrote:i saw a few of the issues at this realy huge bookshop. i read one of them (yes at the shop, without paying for it. you'll be surprised how many people we're actualy doing this, and no-one stoped them) and id say its different enough for eva fans that bought all the dvd's to warrant a purchase.

As for the eva manga, it is more focused on the characters emotions. Its a good manga to read, i just hope the rest will come out this year ...

just think, when the manga is finally released in english, now ppl will have 3 endings to talk about and compare, even though ALL 3 endings will (probably) be the same, the slight differences in them will warrant a plethora (ton) of new 'Ending Of Evangelion' topics... sweeet (yea right..)
i have high hopes for the manga's version of the ending (hint-hint, the END of evangelion... so don't think about discussing a sequel... of course, Akira Toriyama named Dragon Ball's sequel Dragonball Z to imply he didn't want any more sequels (last letter of the alphabet einstein...) but that didn't work out for him... d'oh!)

Don't forget the alternate storylines that Gainax is pimping with the PS2 game they just released in Japan. That'll have people talking for months as well.Daio Kaji wrote:just think, when the manga is finally released in english, now ppl will have 3 endings to talk about and compare, even though ALL 3 endings will (probably) be the same, the slight differences in them will warrant a plethora (ton) of new 'Ending Of Evangelion' topics... sweeet (yea right..)
As far as the manga goes, Viz has taken more than enough time just getting the volumes we have here out (whether or not it's because they might have been getting run in Japan at the same time early on might be a reason), since I remember considering buying volume 1 almost six years ago when I was still reading the Robotech novels (that's kinda strange to think about now). Anyway, since it took them at least six years to get to where we are now, it'll probably be a lot longer to wait for more here in the States. How many volumes are there in Japan, anyway?
All this stuff is getting confusing...

Neither, it's Canadian of course.
Speaking of Gainax pimping alternate storylines in their games... has anyone seen all the endings for the Ayanami Raising Project? One of them features her becoming what looks like NERV's technical director (i.e. Dr. Akagi's job), and I think that would make a damn cool series. Asuka would take Misato's job as field commander and mission planner, and Shinji would be running the whole show in his father's place. And they're all trying to prevent a fourth impact or somesuch nonsense. Or maybe Third Impact never happened and that's what they're still trying to prevent. That would fucking ROCK.

wow, if that's the case, then Forth Impact would just be Third Impact that never really fully happened... which is Second Impact that never really fully happened...the Black Monarch wrote:Neither, it's Canadian of course.
