First of , you're sig image is way too big , the size allowed in this forums is 40 pixels tall and 600 pixels wide.
And about your vid , the act sync it's pretty good , but I recommend you to use DVD footage in your next vids , because I don't know if you've read , but the use of DVD footage to make our vids it's one of this site rules , I know that have many others vids out there made with downloaded footage , and everytime that I found a member asking for opinions about their vids I always give the same advice , if you want the people here enjoy your vids do it by the right way
One more thing , but this is just a personal opinion , when I use effects is just to help me to sync a beat or a instument of the song , nothing more than that , a tool to help to sync beats/intruments when I don't want to cut a scene ^^
