There are quite a few ".hack" AMVs, you just have to try harder at searching for them.. Try going to the Search function at the main site and type .hack//sign or other similar titles into the "Anime" field.

That said, there are 177 hits for ".hack" in Super Search (with 73 available on Local), so maybe you just haven't looked hard enough.

As far as why there haven't been any really notable .hack AMVs, there are several reasons. Some people may be waiting until the entire series is released on DVD. Another reason is that .hack isn't really an action-heavy show (There's a lot of just standing around and talking, and maybe one decent action scene per episode if you're lucky). This doesn't make for a very AMV-able show unless you have solid editing. Aura20 seems to have a small obsession with .hack AMVs, but I can't vouch for the quality of his work.

When the final volume gets released by Bandai, there will probably be a notable jump in the # of .hack AMVs, as the last few eps are considerably more action-packed and have good footage. There will also be a large jump in AMVs (although average quality will more than likely drop) if .hack gets airtime on CN.
