I wonder if Dee Snider has ever read Bastard!!
If anyone hasn't checked out the manga/anime series Bastard!!, you should at least give it a try. It's not a series I'm into, but I thought it was really cool none the less. It's mostly a fantasy, sword and sorcery manga/anime, but the major selling point is all of the American heavy metal references, some obscure, others totally blatant. My favorite was when someone summoned up a golem, and it ended up being the mascot from Motorhead.
Anyway, I've always wondered if Dee Snider, lead singer of Twisted Sister, has ever heard of this. The reason I ask is because of the name of the main character, Dark Scheider. If Dee found out, he'd probably get a massive ego trip. "All right! I'm in a comic book! This is totally awesome!" Think I should e-mail him about this?

Watch Strangeland. It's written and directed by Dee Snider and was filmed in Colorado Springs, my home town!

Dark Schneider is the name of an old 80s band. As are most of the other place names, character names, and spell names in Bastard!

You sure about that? I'm not finding anything on a web search. Give me an album or song title to work with. Most of the people who have written reviews or articles, Animerica included, never made that connection.Sousaphonist wrote:Dark Schneider is the name of an old 80s band.
Sigh, yet ANOTHER movie I keep forgetting to watch.Nestorath69 wrote:Watch Strangeland. It's written and directed by Dee Snider and was filmed in Colorado Springs, my home town!
