Besides, I was something like 15 or 16 when Pokemon was initially popular... I was a bit old for it...

Actually, there was quite a bit of controversy over it for a while--people like James Dobson disliked it solely because it means "Pocket Demons" or something like that (which, after watching how much anime and picking up various phrases, I don't understand--I always thought it was short for Pocket Monsters...)LordSesshoumaru wrote:Wow! *shrug* I'm very much a Christian, but it bugs me to no end when other Christians are so narrow-minded that they jugde things without actually trying them. There's always something in the Christian communities--Dungeons and Dragons, Harry Potter, Pokemon... although I can see where they're coming from, a lot of times Christians tend to judge things before they actually understand what's going on. One of my friends wasn't allowed to watch The Wizard of Oz while she was growing up because it featured a "Good Witch."
My father was listening to a short radio program by Chuck Colson around the time that Return of the King came out--Colson emphasized that the movie has Christian morals and you can tell that Tolkien was a Christian through his work. My parents are narrow-minded a lot--they'd probably be kind of annoyed if they knew I owned the Harry Potter books--but I was so proud of my father because he compared Lord of the Rings to Harry Potter and asked if the Church as a whole would support the trilogy if they didn't know that Tolkien was a Christian...

It does mean Pocket Monsters dammit, they just stuck the two words together cause they thought it would sound cooler.
Oh, and even I'm annoyed that you own the Harry Potter books....
