Black strobe in videos

Post by Rozard » Mon Jan 19, 2004 2:11 pm

Recently, a couple of the videos I have been downloading strobe black flashes when I play them, as well as black boxes in the footage. I have no idea what is causing it, and it doesn't affect a lot of videos that I've seen. The fwe that come to mind are dokool's two Iron Chef videos, and (forgive me, I don't remember the editor) the new video, Funk Soul Brother. Has anyone else experienced this, or know what might cause it?

Have you tried watching the video in a different player?
Updating your codecs?

If you can reproduce the same problem in a different program then you have a basis to investigate.

What is your CPU load when playing? Perhaps you have something running in the background that hogging the CPU.

It definitely sounds like a decompressor error. I've seen similar errors, though they were way back in the day o_o... Don't know how to fix other than try re-isntalling/updating divx/xvid.

o_O

I just watched the videos in PowerDVD, and they all have the same problems, except dokool's EOE Iron Chef plays like scrambled porn.

I'm going to try and upgrade DivX later tonight, see if that helps.
