i usually buy my anime on-line. Sometimes from a video store but rarely. The nearest anime store is like a hour away.

WHat, You didnt get the Memo? There are only about 12 different topics floating around the org. every other one is just a spin off of another. :P

I pay about 24 bucks a pop weather is ADV( my fav ) or Pioneer ( also good ). I normally wouldnt pay anything over 35 bucks for a single DVD though.

The most i've paid for a "single" DVD was $78 but that was Akira, the keepsake version and all ... and i was ripped off because i found the version in the metal tin for almost half that price ...

but actual single disc, would be $52 for Love hina vlume 3 at Future Shop ... that was being overcharged ... plus the lady at the cash was looking at me like i had "PEDO" tattoed on my forhead. i ended up promising to never buy anime there again

As for boxsets ... $344 for Escaflowne is too much ... but i did it any ways ... and guess where ... Future shop ... i called a temporary truce and bought the box set i spent so long looking for ...

The reason i don't buy things on line for so much cheaper is because my mother is a paranoid psychopath. She is distrustful of even the safest sites. And i like being able to physicaly walk into a store and walk aorund in it (exspecialy if it's an anime store).

I don't suppose you speak French? I saw Imavision's Escaflowne box set for C$64.99 at HMV. (and in the same section, one Bandai DVD with three episodes for C$52.99.

Pretty expensive figure... (if the language difference was a non-issue, that is. ;))

I just found this article about anime distribution in Canada:
