How much is too much too pay for anime

Hey, I was just wondering how much is too much too spend on anime. Also what is the most you have ever paid for a box set or single DVD.

I think more than $20 per disc is too much, but I will usually pay more depending on the situation, how bad I want it, etc.

Most expensive I have ever bought is the Eva Renewal set. I ordered all the discs like a month ago and damn cdjapan still hasnt shipped it... ran $380 T_T

Too much would be blowing my savings account. I'm sure I'd love doing it but I'd be kissing my career/education goodbye.

Hmm at present....

DVD box (most spent) - $220 *canadian* MKR
Single DVD- uh...about $55 I think.

Though that box set will probably change once I buy the second seasoj of MKR...it's going to cost me about $300 >.<

I know that because I live in new Brunswic Canada A DVD usually runs me about 60$ Canadian. Is that too much? Should I go To bootlegs?

I have never bought a box set, and does anyone know why?
Escaflowne: $300
Cowboy Bebop: $250
Trigun: $200

Pay what you will, but anything above $100 is whacked if you ask me. Enless your getting like, every single episode of Samurai X, and all the OVAs, and all the.... mangas, and all the figures, and soundtracks, and crap.

Most I have spent, was prob $40, Metropolis anime. After that, I never spent more then $25.

Depends on what company it's by: (following conducted without included tax)

ADV: usually about $25
Pioneer/Bandai: $40-50
Media blasters: $30

I wouldn't resort to bootlegs. Just find a different store. Best Buy is usually pretty good, even HMV is alright for certain companies. It also depends on whether or not the anime is older/newer. Newer box sets tend to be cheaper...like my Uncut Sailor Moon/Slayers were about $125...whereas MKR and Fushigi Yuugi are more expensive.

Anywho, I think the most I ever spent was getting all the single disks of Arc the Lad last year....then ADV comes out with a box set......grrrrRRrr.

Rayearth is cool. I love it. Though I will go so far as to say that season 1 will probably pale in comparison to season 2....hmm....my struggle continues...should I get season 2 on thursday or buy a bunch of single dvds....column a...column b....a little from both? o.O

anyways, I think any money passing $300 range is pretty expensive

Box sets = EBAY!!!!

I don't like to spend a lot on DVD's. The most I've spent in one go was a little over $100, but I refrained from shopping for a few weeks after that. The anime store by my school sells DVDs for $30+ and I think that's a bit too much. I don't buy a lot there.
