Star Ratings

Perhaps a "Cannot Rate" option would be nice. But whats to stop people from abusing it? How about when people choose the cannot rate option, take them to a NEW screen, where they have to click a button to confirm that they cannot rate the video. If it takes them more time to choose cannot rate than it does to score the video, then they arent going to abuse it.

How about cannot rate takes you to a new screen that demands to know why? Things like the video not playing back, corrupted download, etc. It'd take more time and give feedback on what's causing problems.

As we're on the topic anyway, I would personally prefer not to have to rate my own videos. I would really like to keep my star rating clean. Could this be implemented?

Also, since I don't rate my own videos, I've noticed that when you download a video that you have a pending star for, you get another pending star. Allowing you to wote twice. That can't be the idea.

You are free to give your own honest opinion about your own videos. If you do not wish to give a star rating of your video, you can simply not download it from the search front end.

You are free to vote twice, but only the last one will count and thus you will only have one actual vote.

You mean not download from local? Or does everyone have a personal download link somewhere that won't force you to vote?

There is a "test this file" link on the upload confirmation page that should allow you to download without making you do a star vote. Any download using the "local" link should force a star vote. Please let me know if this is not the case.
