I got this idea from a <A HREF="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... >thread</A> that has been running on the General AMV forum and thought I'd toss it out to see what would come back.
One of the comments made (on the third page) was in regards to a DBZ video that went for 25 minutes and excessively repeated footage. When you get to a certain length, it is easier to fall to repeating footage. I'd say the most skillfully done job I've seen of repeating footage is in Doki Doki's "<A HREF="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 684">Right Now Someone is Reading This Title</A>", from Nadesico. When I realized he used footage from Nadesico, I then watched the video again and spotted it immediately. It took me a while to realize where it was in the series. Again, skillfully done.
Anyway, back to topic... This idea that I have had has been part me wanting to make a good video to classical music and wanting to find a good video to classical music. I put a bit of thought into it and came up with the idea of doing a Ranma video to "Pictures at an Exhibition" (by Modest Mussorgsky and orchestrated by Maurice Ravel). This would come out to be a 30 minute video, if ever I did it.
I think a big problem with this is that it might be a little too serious a piece to try only putting Ranma to it. After all, how in the world would one put Ranma footage to the "Catacombs" and get any decent feel for what the music is saying from Ranma? (The "Catacombs" was a painting by a friend of Mussorgsky's with depictions involving death and reminding Mussorgsky of his friend's passing away. Thus, that portion is incredibly mellow and impacts the promenade that follows it very heavily.)
How does the idea strike y'all? I might put a little more effort into it and take it off the backburner if I felt that it would be fairly appreciated.

Pictures at an Exhibition almost lends itself to a multi-editor or at least multi-part venture, where each section is played out in a different anime.
Just my opinion, though...
If you want a unified concept, you need a more unified song...like "Rhapsody in Blue" to, say, Last Exile (hey, it's a free idea!). Or maybe something like "Rite of Spring." Would be a scary video...
