Has anyone seen this manga?
It's called Gunslinger Girls, I believe. I think it was supposed to come out last month. It's kind of like Noir, which I haven't seen, but I fully intend to. Anyway, I was looking for this manga at B&N the other day and I couldn't find it...I haven't seen it anywhere else either. Odds are the anime store near my school carries it, but I won't be able to go there for a while, and in any case they have a tendency to overprice things. Not manga necessarily (haven't bought any there) but definitely DVDs.
So has anyone seen it, by any chance?

You know what? Typically (though I don't have a factual opinion on this) The anime is more likely to be released here before the manga. Several examples are Saber Marionette J, Trigun, Evangelion, and so on. Personal theory: They're waiting for the anime to 'prove itself' and make money before marketing the printed version. The printed medium is going the way of the dinosaurs, man, and I'm sorry to see it go.
Check the various Manga publishers, like VIZ and Tokyopop. Keep looking, and don't give up, man.
Oh, and BTW, Noir is definitely a Must-see.

So that's the anime! Now that I think about it, I might've heard it mentioned somewhere...but they were talking about Rico, and when I read about the manga they only mentioned Henrietta, so I didn't know it was the same thing. I gotta find that manga! I WILL CONTINUE MY UNWAVERING SEARCH!!! People who have seen the anime - is it good?

I have heard of that series, and i think i've seen the manga at Borders ... im not to sure though, u can check out their website but im sure i saw it there o it could have been something else .. hope u find a place that has it that isnt overly priced .. as for anime shops being over priced, i dont thing so ... my local anime shop is cheapers than most of the video stores and book store, plus they have everything and anything u need right at ur finger tips ... but i guess some places do overcharge, i guess im luck to have an anime store that is fairly cheaper than the competitors ..
... but dont get me wrong, i still think anime is expensive especially when they only put 3 episodes on one dvd and charge u $25.00 for it ..

Actually, DVD's at my local store are $30+ so I think we can consider them overpriced....
Ah well, there's always ebay and Best Buy, like I always say. But what about Noir? Has anyone seen that anime, by any chance? I like the concept but I don't know much about it.

Noir is an anime set in the near future. Mireille is a young girl, a lone-wolf type who happens to be one of the most talented assassins in the underworld. One day she receives an e-mail with the name of her next target: Kirika Yumura. The e-mail has an attachment phrase, "Join me on a pilgrimage to the past." and a melody that was playing from a music box (Mireille's father watch) when Mireille's parents were killed. Mireille, whose parents were killed by a mysterious assassin, and Kirika, a girl who has no memory of her past, eventually team up together as assassins. Noir will emphasize plot and story, rather than flashy gunfight sequences and big explosions.
I hope that helped ...
