I wasn't trying to be cruel, only to make a little joke. Would a smiley have helped to convey that attitude? I generally don't use them much.

In any case, thanks for bringing that to my attention. I have to say I'm sorry if I've offended anyone unnecessarily.

There's a barbershop next to my house called "cutting up". That seems appropriate.
