How do you check your grades? Scores.

Post by Jack_d_ripper01 » Sat Dec 27, 2003 4:02 pm

I saw that my vid had 152 hits on it but I wanted to know what grades people were giving me for the video, like stars and stuff. how do i check it?

Also does anyone know of a program that can remove subtitles?

I don't think that you can check the stars but I don't really know one way or another.

If you want to remove subtitles there's a very good guide in the guide section. You can use almost any video editing program to do it, but in the end your just covering them up. All I do is cropping and it works just fine.

To check your stars just go to "Edit My Videos". It also tells you how many times your vid has actually been dled  .

As far as subtitle removal, I know a simple solution to get perfect video with no subtitles! BUY THE GODDAMNED DVDS. My personal policy is to give a star rating of 1 to any video that uses fansubs, because not only are most of them edited poorly, but they all look horrible. Save yourself the trouble of dealing with already-mediocre footage that will only look worse after you run it through Windows Movie Maker (because if you're using fansubs, you're already too poor or too cheap to have decent editing software), and support the companies that give us our shows.

There are also shows that are released on DVD but are or have hard subbed scenes, so it could be that. For example, a friend of mine had to use Virtual Dub heavily for cropping because she did a Level C video and the DVD is completely hard subbed. Why assume the worst? You confuse me o_O

The scores are based off of the maximum score of 5.00. So your score is a 3.67/5.00. You can see how many downloads in the edit videos option (look next to LOCAL) and then the # of stars you got are how many ratings you got.

5's the highest and 1's the lowest. Currently, no video on the Org has a star average higher than 4.5 (the highest is currently Die Another Day by <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... Bond007).
somehow my new video's still in the top 10! woot!

What do you mean by "out of how many stars"? 25 is the number of people who have given you star ratings so far.

Okay, back off the caps lock. Here are your options:

1) Rent
2) Borrow
3) Save the damn money and buy them yourself
4) Keep on being a whiny bitch with horrible vid quality

Your call. I'm not rich by any stretch, but I buy DVDs when I can save up for them, like everybody else in this situation. "Oh, I can't afford it but I want it, so I should have it anyway" is childish.

I know you're not going to listen and this has been done six billion times before. I give up.

Scintilla, your vid still rocks. 8)
