Life isn't easy for some of us...in fact sometimes the only escape we have really is our: music, writing, drawing, filmmaking, editing AMVs....it could be anything. College life (plus alot of other shit which I won't get into) for myself has been rather rough this past year. I'm even lucky I was able to have time to crank out the AMV I did for 2003. But at least at the end of a shitty day one can come back and be proud of the work he/she has accomplished (or is working on) when it comes to AMVs.
Perspective as in this: AMVs are as much a hobby as they are an art form. Equal parts creative expression and kicking back to relax after a shitty day at work (school, what have you). To deny existence the videos that exist solely because the creator just wanted to fool around with some music and video clips is to deny a portion of what makes AMVs so enjoyable: that ability to do something you find pleasure in after a shitty day. Some people focus more on the expression aspect than the hobby aspect, and this is not a bad thing, nor is wanting to align yourself with creators that have similar philosophies. But denying the hobby half of the AMV medium is to deny part of their essence. Denying people the option to just throw shit together and have fun with it is to turn AMVs stale and largely inaccessible for both the viewing and the creating crowd. If you say that AMVs that exist as a kick-back-and-have-fun hobby should not be, then you need to take a step back and re-evaluate your views abit IMHO.

Not every ear of corn is planted in the black soil. Some seeds sprout in clay or rocks and never become as vibrant as the corn planted in rich earth. This is just how it is. Not everyone ear of corn is capable of winning the blue ribbon. But they cannot be denied their existence all the same.

So do the people who just like to watch and enjoy.

Doesn't most corn originate from identical genetic stock? And is it not therefore significantly prone to being wiped out by a single virulent disease?

What lessons can we learn from this...?

I'm saying your so called opinion doesn't make sense.

I hope it's not a custom of yours to give someone a score above a 7 but then claim that you thought it was crappy. That might confuse some people.
That'll explain it. You were saying you got 8's and I didn't know you were reffering to me. I gave you eights and nines in my reviews.

I also gave sevens, sixes, fives, and fours.
Look at that 'above 7' as a C. you did a mediocre job in my opinion. But you know what, lets not leave your FF9 video out of this. That one scraped by with an overall 6.86 (D+).

I hope it's not a custom of your's to not give the whole story. It might confuse people.

But I digress.
