I've got an nVIDIA GeForce 2 MX/MX400 64 mb and it's giving me problems.
I'm doing random things, the screen flashes black and then comes back, but then I can't play Direct3D or OpenGL games. I've updated drivers (Yes, I trashed my anti-virus), I've reinstalled drivers, I did a Windows Update, changed refresh rates, nothing works.
If you know what's wrong, then it would REALLY help me cause then I don't have to restart my comp everytime I wanna play Gunbound or WarCraft 3 after the screen flash...

Try The latest Forceware Drivers from guru3d.com. Also make sure you have the latest version on DX9 installed.

1 - Nothing is wrong with the mobo or video cardklinky wrote:I think you need a new computer. 333Mhz?![]()
Yikes...
Has this always happened? Maybe your card is going out or your motherboard is having issues...
But seriously... I think a newcomputer is in order....
2 - Getting a new mobo and CPU soon, 1.4 GHz
3 - I found the problem: I have too much video card for my CPU, I'm gonna leave it like this cause I get my new mobo either this week or next

Seriously, that is not your problem. Too much video card for your cpu does not make your screen flicker and then not allow you to run Direct3D/OpenGL games. You yourself said that it just started happening. If the above was true about too much computer, then it would have started from the begining..
Most likely something is borked in Windows...
When I had a Geforce2 I used the Detonator 23.11 drivers. The later drivers kinda suck for the older nVidia cards.
You can get them here :

Other than that, a re-install of windows may be in order... You'll definitely want to re-install it when you get your new mobo/cpu...

ok enough of the shock. mabey your monitors refresh rate is just too low, that usualy causes flicker in games. also, check a games graphic options, if it has a vsync option, turn it on. and finaly, mabey the monitor is just dying of old age.....................
