What the heck are you talking about. Of course theres a choice, this isn't steal or starve to death we're talking about here, it's anime. If you don't have enough for the domestic realese then just don't buy it, or any bootlegs either, then save up until you can buy the domestic.Jonathan02us wrote:Yeah this forum does frown on many things like buying bootlegs and necroposting ... but there are times that we have to do or buy these things ... it just depend on the situation that we are in ... its not like we have many choices ...Vlad86 wrote:Actually it appears that the rise in anime releases in the U.S. means there's more for bootleggers to plunder besides Japan releases.Jonathan02us wrote:yeah im sure there are plenty of dubbed bootlegs out there ... they are just waiting to be found ...Mr Pilkington wrote:A dubed bootleg?
Aside from a few of the non-profit copies I have received from friends *cough cough* i have never heard of a Dubed bootleg; let alone HK's.
Technically this means you're getting the same thing as the U.S. release, except at fractionof the price and more eps per disk(reducing disk count from something like six to three).
As we all know this forum frowns upon bootlegs, but I have nothing against them. I've already stated that I'd only buy bootlegs under specific conditions.
Sheesh, all it takes is a whee bit of patience.

You like it so much that you couldn't pay 10 more dollars for the official speicial over at http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com?
Yeah, cause saving up ten dollars takes such a long time, and you do know that it has the dub and sub right? Of course you do, you've been around long enough to know.
Oh, and I think the dub is rather enjoyable.

Bleh, missed that you got the whole series along with that price, not just the movies and again.
Even so, I've got the first 2 disks and collectors box and will be buying the rest shortly. I just save up money that I earn so i can get em, really, waiting another 2 weeks is not going to kill you.

All the bootlegs I've ever seen have had English dub tracks the same as what you'd find on the R1 disks. The three series I've seen done by FX (Trigun, Fushigi Yuugi, and Berserk) also had perfect subtitles, and FY had a nice collection of extras as well (including some not-very-good AMVs to some of the "Vocal Memories" songs, found on the last disc).
On the other hand, the Boogiepop Phantom bootlegs have a few dropped subs here and there, the NGE bootlegs have so many dropped subs that you basically have to watch it dubbed (though that's not a bad thing I[']M[ a ]HO), and the FY: Eikou Den bootleg I got had subs translated through Chinese, which were so bad that I had to watch it dubbed.

diffently, however I don't support mass buying of bootlegs
. Becuase RI's of less popular series would probally never make
and fall in America. Plus, the VA's would never get paid and the
anime industry might waver. Which would suc massively tough
pioneer, tokyo pop, ADV have taking more then several 100
dollars from me personally over the last couple of years.
I need a job to support my habit after the holidays.
Supporting myself with peace maker and gunslinger girl
fansubs till then.
