Who does the english dub for hong kong bootlegs

Post by OtakuForLife » Thu Dec 18, 2003 2:22 am

I was thumbing though my emergency bootleg site:
http://www.cookiejarvideo.com

When I saw that a large portion of them where english
dubbed. I don't understand, is it the same dub just ripped
or are these people doina fandub is it decent?

This brought up the following questions:
Who has heard a bootleg dub?
If you have good how was it?
Ans who dubs these payed americans?

They're probably ripped from U.S. dubbed dvds seeing that the dubbed bootlegs come out shortly after a U.S. release of the show.

Also, I'm pretty sure a mod will be by soon to remove that link......
cause, technically that's against the forum's no bootlegs rule.

Yeah that sounds about right ... for the most part the bootleg dubs sound the same as the R1 dubed ...

A dubed bootleg?

Aside from a few of the non-profit copies I have received from friends *cough cough* i have never heard of a Dubed bootleg; let alone HK's.

Actually it appears that the rise in anime releases in the U.S. means there's more for bootleggers to plunder besides Japan releases.
Technically this means you're getting the same thing as the U.S. release, except at fractionof the price and more eps per disk(reducing disk count from something like six to three).
As we all know this forum frowns upon bootlegs, but I have nothing against them. I've already stated that I'd only buy bootlegs under specific conditions.

Yup yup, the people that do the dubs for the HK bootlegs are the same people that do the dubs for American Divx bootlegs. :D

Yeah this forum does frown on many things like buying bootlegs and necroposting ... but there are times that we have to do or buy these things ... it just depend on the situation that we are in ... its not like we have many choices ... :?
