Making an opening

Post by Seki The Ifrit » Mon Dec 15, 2003 5:43 am

Hi, I'm kinda new to this stuff and was wondering how to make one of those openings at the begining of an amv. I believe that I should be using Photoshop, but beyond that, I have no Idea. I didn't see anything in the guide section about that, so if someone could tell me how to or direct me to a guide that explains it, I'd be most appreciative. Thank you.

depends on what kind of opening you want. If it's just a picture, then yeah you can do it in photoshop. But if you want a moving, or animated opening of some sort your gonna have to look into premiere or what ever, depending on what your trying to make.

My most common 'DJ Izumi OP' is nothing more then various still images cross fading and the audio is even funnier. It's the last 15 seconds of a Romantic Mode song (The theme to Gundam X) played forward and then played in reverse. :D

Thanks guys I can make a still frame style opening now but I can't make one with moving images. The problem is that I cannot for the life of me superimpose anything on top of anything. I try to take a Bitmap image that just has words on it and put that on a movie clip, but the whole pictures either blocks it or vice versa. The same goes for titles, even using the transparency function doesn't help. None of the like 20 options seems to do anything.

you can just add credits to the opening if you use vegas. if your trying to put moving images over each other just use transitions or opacity (in vegas, actualy, just forget any other video editor ever existed and get vegas) . oh and, thanks for being a n00b that actualy reads through the tutorials before asking questions, its realy apreciated, seriosly (you've got no idea how anoying it is to see a "how do i make amv's" thread) :D

Well actually I've already made a an amv, but it isn't very good. Thats why this time I want to do things right, transitions, effects and openings.

What is vegas, where can I get it, and how is it better than premiere?

One other question what is the name of the effect that makes the video look kinda like an old film reel that isn't holding up too well. It's used in that ermac video with evangelion and Nine inch nail's "closer." It also was used very well in a naruto AMV with the song cool down by the pillows, done by celestial hero. The vids new so I suggest d/l it. it's very good.

I wouldn't ask for help until I've exausted almost all other resources because I hate asking for help but right now I have no choice.
