Uhm...they never animated more than 2 OVA episodes in Japan, so there isn't any other material to put on a DVD.ansem'skitty wrote:Only one!!!?!?!!?!? SCREW THAT!!!! Did they even finish the series?
If you want more, just read the manga. I'd say the OVA doesn't even cover two manga volumes.

Battle Angel Alita came out near the tail end of the Japan's big OVA explosion of the mid 90s. At this time, OVAs were still a relatively popular format to release anime titles in, especially compared to big budget theatrical relases.
The OVAs of Battle Angel were released with eyes set on possibly extending the series beyond just the first two episodes, but wary of the possibility this might not happen, the OVAs were given enough sense of closure that audiences wouldn't be totally put off if there wasn't a continuation of the OVAs.
Battle Angel Alita's OVAs met with pretty good reception in Japan, and in the U.S. when it was released stateside by ADV. However, at about this same time, many of Japan's animation studios got hit with financial troubles relating to Japan's recession. A lot of plans were shelved, including any continuation of Battle Angel.
Most animation studios have dug there ways clear of financial troubles, but Battle Angel is simply too old an OVA title to recieve the go ahead for a continuation of the story. If anything happens, Battle Angel would most likely recieve a face list and start fresh from the begining of the story with a new release either to TV or to OVA (as happened to Sol Bianca). I don't see it happening though, and I haven't heard of any plans to try and revitalize the franchise.

As for finishing the series ... well all i have to say is that if they ended it with a closure they will prolly not continue it ... but on the other hand it shouldnt matter how old the OVA's r ... if the series were good enough then there should still be fans out there waiting for a continuation...
i cant say that i am a fan ... i havent seen it but i would be nice to kno more about it ... ill have to look into it ... 8)
