Oh, right. I hear Napster reopened and is now selling mp3's like that iTunes site is.

If you want to edit songs, try:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/about.php?lang=en

Or perhaps some other member can help you with the copy/read-only protection Napster put on the mp3s.

I think I know what it is. Napster has a copy restriction that blocks you from opening the songs in any program or converting. so in other words DON'T USE NAPSTER, PERIOD.

Running the decoder into a wave writer in graphedit might work. I don't suppose you can send the file to me to check out?

Adobe can't use mp3's for audio source, you have to convert them to wav first.

Premiere can but it is recommended to convert it to wav when editing. In a last resort you could open up volume controls and navigate to the recording options and select 'what you hear' and open up an mp3 playing program and record it that way. I'm sure there is a better way though...

Duh!90!2!

What you'll want is Winamp's Nullsoft Disk Writer Plugin which is distrobuted with the program itself.

I'm not sure that'll work as it has restrictions for certain proprietary file types like wma and ra. May not work for these files, then, either.
