I have entries for Nyx Net, Google.co.jp and AMV-org on my personal domain(s). The site works the same way, except the cookies and data are written to your own domain's cache container. Useful for:

1. Trick cookies.

Site: amv.animetheory.com -> www.animemusicvideos.org
Site: (resolved to The Org's IP)/login.PHPSUCKS
Site: zephyr.animetheory.com/cookies.php -> Steal The Org's COOKIES!!!

2. Selective redirection

Microsoft Active Directory, with proper plugins, allows you to selectively resolve DNS names based on the requester's IP address (resolve only for 127.0.0.1, for example). It also integrates nicely with LDAP and DHCP - you can even have a webpage listing DHCP leases on the box, and use DHCP lease info to resolve hostnames.

3. NASTY TRICKS!

Give the address to your friends. If they don't bother to remember the real address for the Org, you can redirect to a bogus site later.
Darnit! Anime-Music-Videos_DOT_org printed everywhere!
