How much of a fan are you?

I am deffinatly not one of those people that thinks that Japan in superior to Canada/Americian culture in everyway. Infact, there is a lot of anime I absolutly hate, same with American content. I love programs with high production value, quality and story, which is why I can be VERY picky about my anime. At the same time, some of my favorite American shows are the 1hr American shows, such as 3rd Watch, E.R., CSI, and all three Law & Order shows. Infact, Third Watch is one of my favorite TV programs ever. (Mmm, firemen. >:D)

I just watch a lot of different things and try to not allow myself to get trapped into being fannishly loyal to a particular series or genre.

I like anime and appreciate it as a film medium.
I don't consider myself a "fan".

I like anime, it amuses me, makes me sad, makes me laugh, keeps me in suspence, and has hot girls.

I am definetely not the otaku of otaku otakuing, though.

Let's put it this way. I'm a fan of anime, but I REFUSE to cosplay. I may not be rich enough in order to buy a bunch of boxsets, but I usually expericence anime with what I got such as fansubs and AMVs. Though I still collect some DVD series and mangas.

Now I know I would dress up as someone just for the fun of wearing a costume. Even though I don't have the money to go all out with a costume, I'll still wear cat ears and a tail for Halloween just because I like wearing a costume.
