i just got a dvd drive and...

it asked me to set the region for the drive. if i set it to region 1 it will still play those all region hong kong dvds right?? i need to use those to make a vid of an anime thats not out in the states

If they are all region, then it shouldn't matter what region the DVD drive is set for.

Mine didn't come with any installation software, drivers, and it works just fine, I've only tried R1 and R0 DVDs though...

Tip: Listen to AbsoluteDestiny, they know what they're doing

Is it true if you aren't careful in changing your dvd-rom firmware, you can kill your dvd-drive for good?

To be safe, I set my dvd-rom as r1 and my dvd-burner to r2.
