Shaman King
Magic Knights Rayearth
DBZ (don't watch more than a few eps at a time and watch it subbed and it's not all that bad...)
Inu Yasha

I actually haven't watched all that much anime lately--it's been a few weeks. I tend to go in cycles anyway, though--right now I'm back in video game phase. But I watched all of Fushigi Yuugi maybe a month ago within a span of about a week, so I suppose I'm justified in taking a break...

Why the hell would the sub make a difference?!?! The plot still sucks, the dub doesn't really change that. I dont really get why people think that it being in japanese really makes that much of a difference. Nothing but the voices changes, and the voices really dont matter when the actual series isn't that good. I always hear people saying, "well if you watch the japanese version, the series isn't that bad" I dont see how it makes a difference, the voices aren't the problem, the plot, random screaming and pointless repeated fight scenes are the problem most people have with it. Also it being edited doesn't make that much of a difference either. They only cut out parts that feature too much blood or sex or references to guns. Other than that they leave stuff in, none of the stuff they cut really changes the plot. Nothing like what CN did with Kenshin anyways. They cut out scenes in that series that are relavent in the plot for most of the series.[/RANT] Breathes

That was something that had been bothering me for a while now, so I decided to post. I know somebody with a DBZ avatar or name will come by and post about how it doesn't suck, but what I want to know is why you think it being the japanese version would make any difference?

dbz was the first anime i saw and it seemed really kewl.....when i was in 6th grade --;; then all it was was the same exact thing. a villian comes, the dbz team trains, they confront the villian after about 20 episodes of training (or that's wat it seemed like) then they would spend 30 episodes actually fighting the villian(once again, it just felt like 30 episodes, i doubt it really was). goku or some other member of the dbz team would turn super siayan, either kill the enemy or let them them go since he was such a good guy then they would return to earth until the next enemy came. It had a good plot, but when the storyline becomes so predictable, and the fight scenes all look the same (has anyone else noticed that? all they do is punch at each other in midair so fast that their hands seem like blurs until one gets hit in something, then he stands up and it happens all over again  )
Mamimi: Takkun may have a big forehead, but he's a real good kid! Please don't hurt him?
Haruko: HE'S HIDING BETWEEN YOUR LEGS!!!
Mamimi:What? But he's a real good boy. He'd never even mention having seen my panties!
Haruko:THEN HE'S GAY!!!

Have your ever noticed that with all their punching, head butting and kicking in the face, not a single one them ever gets a black eye.

As far as DBZ being a starter anime, it wasn't a starter anime for me so I cant really say I can say I understand it being a starter. I saw DB and DBZ back in '92 when it aired on FOX and no one really liked it. As far as plot goes, I think they knew what they were doing. They did the show for teenage boys between 10 and 14 and what a shocker thats what a good majority of the audience is. :?
