'1979' by The Smashing Pumpkins. Everytime I listen to this song it reminds me of the last 5 years of my life, and it always chokes me up.

I can't reallt think of one that defines me right now.

I just listened to the 1979 song, and I must agree, it is a pretty good song. 'Perfect' is also another Smashing Pumpkin song I think is pretty good. I really liked 'Perfect'.

My personal and non-binding opinion:

"1979" is a great song. Great fit between the mood and tone of the music and the lyrics.

"Perfect" makes me twitch. Maybe it's because I don't believe any relationship is ever perfect, and songs like this don't help people's already disastrously high expectations... other than that, I like the sound of it. It's one of those songs I'd like if the lyrics were different.
