for thos who went to the opining show for Metrocon, were amazed as the crew of the show played the first video from this DVD, and in a most awsome turn of events, had actual lasers shooting off stage into the room. when i first saw this, i really wanted to know where it came from, as it was the most amazing thing i had ever seen the in music to animation feild. i went home thinking i would make a similer kind of animation with like, Bryce 3D and Poser. little did i know, that this was not animated TO the music, but BY the music. the whole thing is driven by MIDIs and a little plugin for 3D arts programs called MIDImation. thats right, the music actualy drives the animation.
i feel so useless now =P
anyway, it wasent untill about a week ago that a friend of mine let me barrow this DVD and i got the see all of it for the first time.
OMG is all i can really say. my fave one has to be the one with the marbles. and to think that this is all done with midis. O_o i make thos all day long, and here i find out they can do THIS!
anyone else seen this? i did a search for topics on it already in the forums and really didnt get anything. so im sorry if this topic has already been discused alot.
thoughts or comments? they have a few short teasers on their site. if you havent seen any of this, watch and be amazed!

I saw a couple of those on that TechTV show, Eyedrops. It really is amazing, but according to an interview they did with the guys behind this, it takes one helluva long time for one of those features to finish rendering.

Wow, I give us 10 years before the RIAA sues us or some script kiddie works out an AMV program and puts us out of work.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

That's fair
Well, what we do will be considered fair use by most judges, so I don't think a-m-v.org has anything to worry about. Especially since it doesn't make money off of this, and the fact that Phade can always claim the inability to monitor what every single person uploads (which works so many times).
However, I fear that technology does have a trend of making people useless (not to mention jobless).
JUST LOOK AT WHAT YOU GEEKS HAVE DONE!!!! I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY!!
I should have been a lawyer instead of a systems guy. They have now created systems which design systems. Systematically putting themselves out of work. Good job! I'll probably have no job when I graduate and will go with my predecessors to the unemployment line along with the manufacturing people they helped put out of work.
But I’m overly dramatic. It’s not really all that bad! New technology means new bugs and problems. New jobs will be created and new hobbies. Maybe we all learn MIDI, no ?
And there is always law school!
